Our group gathered and took form in June 2020 around the project of Shelf. We started from the beginning with the intention of making something worth the gaming market and are currently working with the mindset of making our way into this beautiful field that is the videogames development and having the possibility to share with everyone our ideas and creations. That’s who we are, people who really love games and who loves making them, and creatives with a strong desire to share their passions with the community.
Francesca Cioffi, Founder & Concept Artist
Born in 1995 in Bologna, Italy, I started drawing as a form of expression and communication at a very young age, and kept doing it for the rest of my life so far.
I took classical studies in high school, which made me expand my knowledge and cultural basis in a completely new way, allowing me to learn about the greatest minds of humanity’s past alongside with their beautiful creations and contributions to build the social, multicultural and artistic context we live in today. That helped me immeasurably when I decided to enroll a Bachelor at the Academy of Fine Arts, letting me understand deeply the meanings and implications of the artistic expressions I studied and loved.
I started gaming at the age of 5 with my first console ever, a GameBoy Color, and since then I cherished a deep and unconditional love for this media; this led me to follow my dream to give back what I took from it since I was a child, and I signed up for a master’s degree in Game Art.
Shortly after the conclusion of the course, I found myself thinking about a story to produce and bring to life; my dream of a lifetime has always been founding an institution where to gather artistic talents to create stories, find new ways of expressions and set our imagination free to see what happens and what new marvelous creation will unfold before our eyes.
Simone Benigni, Developer & Game Designer
You know, if there’s something i love more than playing games is talking about games.
Gameplay mechanics and design discussions really fascinates me.
I actually didn’t discover my passion until third year in high school, even if I “made games” since all my life, when me and my brother were child I used to create unecessary complex games with toys for him to play while I preferred to stay in the background and move the game characters and logics.
Years later some friends made me discover RpgMaker XP, and the mission to make the best rpg game in existence without knowing anything about coding started.
Another flash in the future and now I am a computer science student: the university opened my mind to the complex and beautiful world of coding in other perspectives other than the gamedev one; that one and 8 years of amateur game development on small game jams and thousand of prototypes of “the next big indie game of the world”, giving me a lot of practical experience.
In more recent times I started working on various smaller and bigger projects in a more professional way, can’t wait to see which amazing games will be born from them in the future!
Dario Cioffi, 2D Animator
No, me and the Team Founder are not related.
I took scientific studies and pursued a bachelor in biology, but then I changed course and I decided to study animation and film making without any previous artistic education, driven by my passion for drawing and for animated films that I cultivated since I was a child.
I studied patiently starting from zero and it’s been very difficult, but I have been lucky because I had given the opportunity to take part in small parallel videogame development projects where I could test myself in various parts of the graphic division; these experiences helped me decide to specialize in videogames character animation, and that’s what I am doing now.
I am a lover of role play games in which the party work together to complete various quests and I look for this also in real life; although I consider myself a loner, I love teamwork and in my free time I team up with comicon’s staffs of all the country, and I also organize small events and exhibitions.
Redamant Games welcomed me with open arms and unexpected warmth and I immediately felt comfortable (not an easy accomplishment); I will make the warmth they infused me shine through my animations.
Elena Virginia Mazzotti, Storyteller
Books and small dark places where forgotten things hide lover since childhood, I pursued literary and archaeology studies and then I continued my journey specialising in Eastern studies.
What does all of this have to do with Redamant? Well… I confess I questioned that myself too, in the beginning owo)”
The truth I reached is that everybody spreads crumbles of their stories behind them: finger prints on clay pottery, letters engraved on faded pages, or -why not- even small colorful characters gesticulating on a screen; taken all of these, my desire remains to guard them and, possibly, to tell you all about them.
Ps: I change hair color accordingly to my main personality at the time, so I hope the next Elena will be able to know you all too!
Luca Balelli, Storyteller
Hi everyone, I’m Luca! If you have already seen a face like mine, I’m that kid who spent his entire childhood among the shelves of a library. This is how I grew up, getting lost in stories, devouring one book after another and taking a piece of them to make it my own.
Video games came a little later, when I had the chance to get a game boy and understood how a computer worked. There I became part of the stories they told and guided them through the choices I made.
The last piece was discovering role-playing, and with it writing. With just a pencil, some dice and the friends around me I finally created my own stories… our stories, and I still do.
Every piece of them made me who I am today, they show up in what I write for myself and for Redamant. And who knows, maybe one day I will be able to leave a part of it to you too.
Carlotta Agogliati, Legal and Managing Consultant
Greetings! My name is Carlotta, I studied Economics and Business Management at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. My job is to deal with the economic and legal matters of Redamant.
That being said, I am also a professional in binge watching, and I really like flowers and ducks
Environment & Props Artist
My experience as a freelance artist began during my studies in evolutionary psychology at the University of Bologna, while I was working on my thesis on behavior within virtual environments: specifically, competition, cooperation, and competitiveness in online multiplayer gaming.
During that time, as I needed to create virtual environments for conducting the necessary research, my passion for concept art was born. Determined to fund my studies, I worked for two years as a night shift worker in a rubber factory.
I attended a course at the “3D Graphic Academy” in Rimini on architectural modeling, and later became a 3D modeling and rendering instructor there for the next three years.
Simultaneously, I began working on a project that I continue to this day: the virtual reconstruction of archaeological sites, in collaboration with Dr. Gaia Canuti, an architect, and archaeologist Paolo Storchi.
After my teaching experience, I started collaborating with Andrea Bertaccini and Davide Sasselli at “Tredistudio.” My role involved modeling and rendering photorealistic characters and clothing for the advertising industry. I still collaborate with Andrea Bertaccini almost daily.
Seeking to enter the world of film production and game development as a concept artist and 2D illustrator, I completed three years of the “Game Art” course at the “Nemo Academy” in Florence. I rounded off my studies with a six-month master’s program in concept art at the “Big Rock Academy” in Treviso.
In my free time, along with some other artists, I organize an annual event called “LAPIX Expo,” which connects professionals from the entertainment industry, ranging from animation to concept art and game development.
Francesco Briotti, Music Composer
Graduated with distinction at the conservatory of Santa Cecilia, Rome.
Working in the Jazz landscape, I performed as pianist, orchestra leader, arranger and composer with Ettore Fioravanti, Paolo Damiani, Fernando Brusco, Mario Corvini, Marco Collazzoni, Danila Satragno, Forest Muther, Corrado Vitale and others. I also performed for Umbria Jazz 2017 and Emilia Romagna Festival alongside the Umbria Ensemble (M. Cecilia Berioli, Luca Ranieri).
Musical exploration and experimentation led me to fine-tune in Improvisation with Daniele Roccato and to enroll at C.E.T. of Mogol (Giuseppe Barbera, Giuseppe Anastasi). I’ve been one of the winners of Pino Massara Prize (Lucca Jazz) in 2018, and one of the seven finalists of the International Contest of Arrangement Barga Jazz in 2019, on Dave Douglas musics. I’m collaborating since 2019 as a session musician and producer in Jazz, Rock and Pop, and also with the De Chirico Collective, a contemporrary Jazz project with variable staff.
I am also involved in research, didactics, theatre music, sonorization, soundtracks, videomaking collaborations and music productions embracing any style and category.
Pietro Gavagnin, Social Media Manager
I wasborn in 2001 in Venice, in the old town, and I always loved my city for its uniqueness and beauty.
After Scientific high school I tried studying geology at Trieste University, with poor result. Then I came back in Venice, to study Archaeology, my passion. I have become a medievalist archaeologist with a special interest for Goths and Langobards of our peninsula. My thesis involves vitreous pearls for bracelets and necklaces.
I am a massive Pokémon fan, both cards and videogames, and I put on a vast collection. I am not passionate about multiplayer games, I prefer open worlds in solitude, even better when they come with an historical background, like Assassin’s Creed legendary saga.
I am a vegetarian for ecological reasons, I love both the sea and the mountains equally, to float offshore or to take a walk into the woods are my ways to relax.
Even if I may not be able to contribute technically to games production at Redamant Games, I am very happy to manage the social side, promote the brand and interact with all the curious people who want to know more about our works and our team.
I hope you all will appreciate every one of our projects, you can always find me at your service online!
Monica Magnani, Communication Consultant
Class 1996. I’m born with a lifelong, natural passion for words, people, society, art. So I tried to put my life engaging with these forces: this makes me an uncorruptible Curious; I love to know, to experiment, to study how people feel and their behavior, how they grow and change around me.
It’s hard to fit a personal vision in work, but I’m building the right path to follow: I studied Communication in Milan as my first graduation, and I’m accomplishing now a master degree in Enterprise Communication of marketing, media and complex organizations.
My head is a creative unexploded bomb that waits for inspiration, and I find in Redamant Games a good pal to be firework with. I have interesting tasks for this project: helping with narrative, plot, dialogues and making a social promotion strategy.
The Young Monica, who played with her game boy under the sheets until 2a.m, would be enthusiast about me proposing myself to help Francesca with her idea. If it’s full of potential, why not?
